This test rig has been designed to load the gear box with upto 17.5 KW of power. The central idea is that a motor-generator pair can load the gear box. A generator can be used to load the motor and gear box to varying degree. If no load is required then an electrical set point for ‘not to load the motor’ is given from the PC.
The unique feature of this proposed rig would be that the Gear Box can be tested under load as well as no load condition. This can also result in power saving. Since hi-tech computer control has been provided, the load can be varied in very small steps of 0.1kw. The Torque, speed, and power will be indirectly measured from the drive.
The first motor operates in motoring mode while the second
motor acts as a generator. |
